On August 23, 2026, at the 11th BRICS+ Legal Forum in New Delhi, Russian lawyers presented the BRICS+ International Arbitration Academy. The project was created at the initiative of the Russian Bar Association and the Arbitration Association (RAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Any arbitration institution is built on people\u2014primarily, arbitrators.” The Academy aims to bring together leading arbitration specialists from BRICS countries, foster stronger interaction between them, and facilitate their integration into the arbitration structure of the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Academy’s first program is scheduled to launch in 2027, with 40 participants from BRICS countries participating. The program will include eight in-person seminars in seven countries. Leading arbitration institutions from Russia, China, Egypt, the UAE, Malaysia, Turkey, India, South Africa, and Brazil will serve as the Academy’s partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the Forum, the New Delhi Declaration II was adopted, which enshrined the areas of legal cooperation among the BRICS countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We welcome the initiative of the Russian Bar Association and the Arbitration Association (RAA) to establish the BRICS+ Arbitration Academy, aimed at educating and training world-class arbitrators to strengthen their capacity to resolve international commercial disputes in BRICS+ jurisdictions,” the declaration states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It is particularly important that the idea of \u200b\u200bestablishing the BRICS+ International Arbitration Academy received broad support from Forum participants and was reflected in the Forum Declaration in New Delhi. The signing of this document confirms the relevance and relevance of such an Academy and demonstrates the shared interest today in developing a professional arbitration infrastructure that meets the new realities of international trade and cross-border dispute resolution.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Academy is designed to foster the development of a new professional community of arbitrators with high expertise and uniform standards of independence and professional ethics, capable of ensuring the fair and professional resolution of international commercial disputes in the context of the changing global legal architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The participation of Academy representatives in the 11th BRICS+ Legal Forum was an important step in promoting the idea of \u200b\u200bcreating a modern, professional, and independent BRICS+ arbitration infrastructure and developing international legal cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
